The choice usually comes down to two chemistries: lithium-ion (including LiFePO4) and lead-acid. Here's how they actually compare for real-world fleet and retail use — especially in hot climates and markets with limited service infrastructure.

The Core Trade-Off

Lead-acid batteries are cheaper upfront and easy to source and repair almost anywhere. Lithium-ion batteries cost more initially but deliver far more value over the life of the vehicle. 1. Lifespan and Cycle Life
